Level 8 has begun with blinds of 400/800 and 75 antes.
Many people have asked how today compares with last year's event.
Last year it was event 17 played on April 21st & 22nd.
The buy-in was the same, but this is a different tournament as last year, only one re-entry was allowed. This year: 2.
Last year, all levels were 30 minutes. This year, first six levels only 20 minutes, then back to 30.
Blind structure is identical to last year.
Last year, 850 entries, prize pool $144,500, paid 81 places; 1st paid $33,990.
This year, still waiting on final numbers, but unofficially 991 entries, prize pool over $168k. We'll have to wait for the payouts, but expect about 90 will get paid.
Matt Mazzeo - Defending Champ
Last year, they played until about 4:30 am. Matt 'muffins' Mazzeo was the eventual winner.
This year, Muffins is back to defend his title.
