Gerard Campbell - 4th Place - $10,830
Event 7 was Gerard Campbell's (Staten Island, NY) first shot at a live tournament. "I mostly play cash and home games but figured I'd come down and give it a shot." He made the trip with friends Victor, and Paul, who also played in Event 7 but didn't fare as well.
Gerard was down to 8,000 at the 100 / 200 blind level and build all the way up to 300,000 in one session.
Gerard, a recent graduate from Villanova Universtiy will certainly put the $10,830 prize money to good use.
After scoring a short stack double up, he tried to make a move with K-9 but ran into Patty's A-Q. Patty shoved and Gerard called pre-flop.
Gerard outflopped her as K-2-Q hit the felt. But the dreaded ace on the turn gave Patty two pair and the knock-out.
Fourth place for your first ever live tournament - not bad at all.
