Event 17: Good Laydown or Good Bluff?

$1,000 + $90 NL (6 Max)

Down to 17 tables already, meaning 102 players.

Currently playing in level 5 with blinds of 150/300 and 25 antes.

During the previous level, September 2010 6-max champ Dan Spirer in the cutoff (New Hope, PA) was all-in on the river with a board of  T 6 2 4 9 (no flush possible).  He had check-raised his opponent on the button, who had led out for 2k and was now facing a bet of 8,125 more.

 Dan Spirer

Dan offered to show one and James Boyle, who was at the same table, warned him that showing any cards with action pending was against the rules and James would call for the floor and a penalty.

Dan then offered to show his cards once his opponent folded.  After a couple of minutes in the tank, the player on the button surrendered.  Dan showed AQ offsuit for Ace-high.

Good laydown or good bluff?  Only the button knows.
