Event 18: 5th Place - Deutsch

$2500 + $200 Double Play NL Championship

Jason Deutsch (Staten Island, NY)
$61,787

It's by far the biggest pot of the tournament as Jason Deutsch and Russell Crane play a 6.5 million chip pot as both start the hand with a little more than 3 million chips each.

Crane opens from UTG for 120k
Deutsch 3-bets to 335 from the SB, Crane calls

Flop: 3 7♠ 2

Deutsch bets 330k, Crane calls

Turn: 4♠

Deutsch checks, Crane bets 525k, Deutsch tanks

Deutsch moves all in for 2 million, after a brief pause, Crane calls and is at risk

Deutsch: J 7 (pair of 7s, flush draw)
Crane: 10 10♠

River Q♣

Deutsch misses on the river and Crane claims nearly half the chips in play by scooping the 6.5 million pot. The hand cripples Deutsch to 220k and busts a few hands later.

"I thought I could rep kings or queens there, but he made a good call," says the 22 year-old poker pro. "I played well, it just didn't work out.

Deutsch lists his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and being friends with poker pro Christian Harder (charder) as some of his greatest accomplishments.

"If you had told me when I woke up this morning that I'd finish 5th I'd have taken it," he says.
